Lumsden & Son, Distillers

John and Kim built a distillery when John was facing a period of radiation and surgery in 2014. They have kept it running since, producing single malt whisky, bourbon and rum, and from time to time pear brandy, rye whiskey, and Avena – a malt whiskey containing oats. The “make” is matured in American and French oak casks. These are small – 3 to 10 litres – so the the aging time is in months rather than years. The principal product – The Firth – is matured through a Solera of six 5L American oak casks, which results in a consistent whisky that is aged between six and eighteen months.

Lumsden and Son distillery production is not for sale or exchange.
